<p>You should also look at cleaning up your companies information online as well.You should take a look at updating info on the multiple local business search sites.  These are sites like <a href="http://yelp.com" target="_blank">YELP</a>, <a href="http://citysearch.com" target="_blank">CitySearch</a>, <a href="http://merchantcircle.com" target="_blank">Merchantcircle</a>, <a href="http://supermedia.com" target="_blank">Superpages</a>. Also don&#8217;t forget to look for reviews of your company on <a href="http://angieslist.com" target="_blank">Angieslist</a> as well as searching through the forums on <a href="http://craigslist.com" target="_blank">craigslist</a>. Make sure that Google maps,Bing maps and Yahoo maps are updated with your correct info as well. Make sure that all hyperlinks, contact info, and pictures on your website and social media platforms( Flickr,Facebook,Myspace, etc) are current.</p>
<p>Remember each social media platform utilized out there on the web for your business is more then just a tiny ripple on a pond created by the proverbial pebble. With social networking, digital marketing, proximity promotions, and multi-channel media, <strong><em>YOUR</em></strong> business  has never had a larger pond to play in. The pebbles are no longer hitting the water one at a time they are being launched into the pond in multiple handfuls at a time. The ripples are now becoming waves and you want to make sure your company is riding them successfully.</p>

Wether your updating your yelp.com page or online business directories. Wether your adding media rich content to your facebook fan-site or blog and website. Or maybe your linking your Youtube channel to your Purls advertising campaign. Whatever your doing its about getting your message to your customers and receiving their input in reply. Social media allows you to do that very inexpensivelyand in real time. But you do need to plan for it. If a company does not have a plan they are simply shotgunning or spinning their wheels and while there might be some traction it will be meaningless without a useful executed strategy in the long run.</p>
<p>That being said I came across a great article a friend forwarded to me called the <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/lon-safko/ten-commandments-social-media/five-p-s-social-media-where-do-you-start?partner=homepage_newsletter" target="_blank">five P&#8217;s </a>and come interesting comments on it as well. <p>Well not entirely true it will cost you something in your labor ,but Flickr is a great way to catalogue your products or services. Not only does it thumbnail your pics but it also allows viewers a chance to see high resolution pics as well. For a cragislist, yelp, flipped or other social media site that allows you to post stuff for sale you can embed a link to view these images. Craigslist for example allows you to post photos but there resolution is not that great.</p>
<p>For an artist, studio, or designer Flickr is a must to gather a following and a great way to exposure of what you can do.</p>
<p>For a retailer its a great way to have a catalogue of your products that you can easily point to and if your hard drive crashes or you lose an image a great place to easily store them as well. Just remember it is out in public for all to see, use or grab.</p>
